Unceremoniously dumped by his fiancée, Mitch moves to London for what is to be an 18-month wild ride with bad decisions and extreme characters. While he's under siege by obnoxious bosses and maneuvering a barrage of advances from men and women of all ages, Mitch's intimate confessions and musings are simultaneously delightful and embarrassing. He may lack principles and have a complete disregard for consequences, and he's not easy to like - but he's entirely entertaining.

Wanton Times (Audible Audio Edition) Mitch Vandell Jeffrey Jared Books

This is one of those coming-of-age books that I'm pretty sure is directed more at teenagers looking for their escape from home, but I think adults will enjoy the chance to reminisce on maybe how much better or worse their years growing up were. It's certainly captivating "enough" for anyone who's interested in this type of novel. It's a narrative of this man's life, trying to find where he belongs or trying to make a place for himself, working out where he wants to end up and who he wants to be with, etc.

You know that feeling you get after reading books like "The Fault in Our Stars" or "The Giver" or "The Little Prince"? Or watching movies like "What's Eating Gilbert Grape"? That kind of melancholy-ish feeling that really makes you take a look at life in a different way whether it be your own life or the concept, I felt it with this book afterwards in a more "modern" sense. It's thought provoking and inspiring, and I love how simple the narration is and yet it still has a really powerful effect.

The reason it's four stars is because I thought it could have been put together a little bit better. The separate chapters didn't feel very linked to me, and it threw me off just a bit. But I think it depends more on the person reading, whether this contributes to the inspiring effect or if it hinders your understanding of the book.

Wanton Times (Audible Audio Edition) Mitch Vandell Jeffrey Jared Books Reviews

This book jumped all over and didn't really have any sense of structure. I'm not sure what th author was trying to express.
Perhaps the stupidest book ever. I'm glad it was free and I didn't waste any money on it. Very boring and has no substance. I kept waiting for something exciting to happen but it never did. If you are having trouble falling asleep, then read this book. And sadly, the time it took me to read it, I will never get back.
Mitch graduates university and is ready to get married. He tries to live life by the rules. One problem, he has an adventurous spirit and just can't quite think inside the box. Mitch tells his story with such incredible wit that he leaves you with a more clever outlook on your own life. Forget politically correctness, sanctimonious morality and playing by the rules. Mitch tells it to you the way it is and it is hilarious. Each character in his life will remind you of someone you know, and never really saw through...until now. You wont miss the subtle tones of wisdom that he learns the hard way...wisdom of the true nature of people and corporate environments.

I know Mitch and can attest that it is as true as it is entertaining. I guess that is why I am so fond of the book, the fact that it is enjoyable to the point of disbelief yet is actually real!
Wanton Times will leave you speechless and wanting more on many different levels.

The main character, Mitch is developed to perfection as you embark his a journey that will take you deep into the heart of corporate Britain in a wicked fashion. Definitely a sexy thrill ride that will have you thinking outside the box in an open-minded kind of way and one that you will simply not be able to put down from start to finish. Mitch’s personality in this amazing story is witty, reckless, dynamic and easy to relate too in a way that will have you questioning your own self and hidden desires.

There are a few unforgettable scenes that I will not mention in for sake of not putting out a spoiler, but can only say that they will leave you smiling and grinning at the same time. Author Mitch Vandell is brilliant when it comes to his character descriptions and his unique writing style that allows the reader to fully engage in the storyline and plot theme. Its depth and originality is by far some of the best I have read as of late and one that I recommend for all to read.

5 stars!
Author Mitch Vandell has written what is perhaps one of the most creative autobiographical novels (if that makes sense) I've read in a very long while. With his book `Wanton Times' Vandell has obviously mastered the art of confabulation--that tricky little thing that allows you to craft tall tales with enough verisimilitude to make it all feel truthful. Which is my own way of saying `Wanton Times' is one of the most entertaining, highly addictive reads I have had in months.

At its heart, `Wanton Times' is about a young man's journey in trying to find his life's purpose--only that he seems to be stumbling into the wrong things quite often. That, and his self-confessed `moral laxity' vis-à-vis London's corporate demands and social culture make it very difficult for Mitch to gain any laser-focused sense of where he's supposed to be heading. But on top of this loose plot is the real gem the author's incredible sense of humor, his knack for creating unbelievable scenes that are downright hilarious--and they're funnier because they seem so plausible, like these things can really happen to anyone.

Written with tongue-in-cheek humor, the book succeeds in pushing all the right buttons. Moreover, underneath this overall theme of moral laxity and existential confusion runs the emotional gravitas that makes `Wanton Times' a book that is worth reading by anyone who demands more than just cheap thrills. Vandell has these small "eureka!" moments that are placed strategically, like little bombs, throughout the book, and such make the whole thing a well-balanced, deeply enjoyable, and ultimately enlightening reading experience.

I highly recommend `Wanton Times' to anyone who'd like an unforgettably fun reading experience--savagely satirical yet downright hilarious at turns, this is a book you'll tell your friends about. Get a copy of this today--enjoyment guaranteed.
The new girl in the big city is neat a genre in itself so it was nice to get a peek at the other side of the equation. Apparently the horrible jobs and crap living arrangements are strangely similar but the reasons behind the seriously stupid sexual encounters are different if equally foolish. Nice to know.
